Alliant Partners Development, a Tampa-based real estate development firm, has bought nearly an acre in Port Charlotte, where it is in the process of building a new restaurant on the space.
The 0.81-acre property is at 1470 Tamiami Trail. right off of Veterans Boulevard and El Jobean Road. It is an outparcel part of a Target and Kane’s Furniture anchored shopping center across from the Port Charlotte Town Center.
Alliant Partner paid $2.15 million for the property.
The firm says it cannot yet disclose the eatery that’s moving in but describes it in a statement as “a nationally recognized restaurant that is rapidly expanding throughout Florida.”
According to a Jan. 29 letter written to a North Carolina construction and project management company by a Charlotte County planning and zoning official, the restaurant being built on the site is a Whataburger.
The Texas burger chain, which is expanding in the state, plans for a 2,571-square-foot restaurant with drive-thru facilities and associated infrastructure, according to the letter to Sevan Multi-Site Solutions.
A Whataburger spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
Alliant says construction has begun, with the demolition complete.
Burton Tuttle, a partner with the Alliant, says in the statement that “strategic outparcel redevelopments like this allow us to unlock value in established retail corridors.”
Jonathan Holubik, Alliant’s vice president of retail, is leading the firm’s restaurant expansion initiatives across Florida and the Southeast. Colliers International’s Tyler Peterson and Kyle Mahoney represent the tenant.
