Lee County Property Appraiser’s (LEEPA) office has struck a deal and is set to relocate and expand into a 31,006 square foot office space in the heart of downtown Fort Myers.
This move comes as a response to the significant growth Lee County has experienced that necessitated the expansion across many government departments. The relocation date will occur after an extensive remodeling project to the building, currently owned by CenturyLink and Lumen Technologies.
The Appraiser’s office will undertake this significant relocation and expansion, moving away from their 30-year location at 2480 Thompson Street to a larger, more centralized space at 1520 Lee Street, Fort Myers, Florida.
This transaction, brokered entirely by Adam Palmer, CCIM, SIOR, Managing Principal of LQ Commercial, marks the largest office lease in Southwest Florida year-to-date and the largest in the core of downtown in over two decades.
The County’s Property Appraiser, Matt Caldwell highlighted the need for the relocation and expansion; “As Lee County approaches more than 1 million residents, it was clear that more space is needed to serve the public. This location is the perfect solution for our long-term needs and will accomplish the goal at significant savings to the taxpayer.”
Adam Palmer commented on the importance of this move in the current market landscape: “”This lease is a clear result of the robust growth our region has experienced. I’m excited that not only were we able to assist in the Appraiser’s growth plans, but also the contribution of additional foot traffic that it will bring to the core of downtown Fort Myers.”
